5 Tips To Grow Your Hair Long Fast

Hi lovelies! Hope everyone is having a great week. I’m excited to get away for the long weekend! I have Monday off for Martin Luther King Day so we are heading to my old college stomping grounds, Richmond, VA. I’ll post all about the trip next week! In the meantime, I wanted to share 5 great tips for growing your hair longer faster. The last time I cut my hair short was at the beginning of 2015 and I’ve been growing it ever since. When I got engaged last fall, I was determined to do everything I could to have my hair grow faster and be as long as possible by my wedding this past October. Below are my best, proven recommendations for growing hair super long & strong. In case you missed it, you can also check out my post on Essential Hair Products At Every Price Point for more favorites. Comment if you have any other tips or amazing products you would recommend!

  1. Keep it healthy

The best way to do this is by using really good products, including shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, & masks. I use UNITE 7 Seconds Shampoo, Conditioner, & Leave-In Conditioner/Detangler. A few other favorites I’ve found are VERB Shampoo & Conditioner & L’Oreal Sulfate Free Shampoo & Conditioner. Another great Leave-In Conditioner is this one by Suave. I also use a hair mask once a week (leave on damp hair 15 minutes then rinse). I love the Brazilian b3 Instant Restore & Protect Reconstructor and VERB Hydrating Mask.

  2. Take a Biotin Supplement

I’ve been taking Biotin every day for a few years & I have noticeably stronger hair & nails. Both grow much faster as well.

  3. Only wash every 2-3 days

This is one of the best ways to keep your hair from drying out. Wear it up, use dry shampoo, and avoid washing it as much as possible. I wash mine every other or every 3rd day. It grows so much faster the less you wash it!

  4. Use A minimal AMOUNT OF heat

For a year prior to the wedding, I stopped using heat tools on my hair, unless 100% necessary. During the week, I would wear it natural or in a ponytail or bun. I let it air dry as much as possible. I only straighten/curl it when I have a special event or occasion, typically once a week or every few weeks. When you do have to use heat, make sure to use a really good heat protectant all over, focusing on the ends. I love Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat & UV Protective Primer.

  5. Trim split ends often

I get my ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks to improve the overall health of my hair. Trimming the dead ends keeps it looking and feeling so much stronger, leading to less breakage.
