36 HOURS IN WASHINGTON, DC
Happy Wednesday! i took a small hiatus from social media after our trip to DC because sometimes it is just nice to take a break and enjoy some downtime.
I wanted to share all about our trip to DC because we had the BEST time. The weather was beautiful and we got to catch up with a lot of our friends in the area. We got in late Friday night and went to Navy Yard for dinner and drinks. We went by Due South Dockside (where my friend Thasin works) first for food then went by Mission for a drink. We ended Friday night early because we had a lot planned for Saturday.
One of my favorite things that they have in Arlington and DC are the bottomless brunch specials so we went to Ambar in Arlington on Saturday morning. It is unlimited food for $34 plus 25 cent brunch cocktails. It’s such a cute restaurant and all of the food is delicious. A couple other favorites for bottomless brunch are Cava Mezze and Palette 22. After brunch we headed to Georgetown for a little shopping and exploring. We walked to Dumbarton Oaks but unfortunately they didn’t open until 2pm. I’d love to go back next time! We shopped a little and grabbed coffee at Blue Bottle before heading over to the Library of Congress. I hadn’t been to there since I was little so it was really fun to go in and explore. It’s such a beautiful and magical place. We walked from the Library of Congress to the Supreme Court, which is also so amazing. Some of my other favorite places in DC are the U.S. Botanical Gardens, Tidal Basin, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum & Renwick Gallery.
From the Supreme Court, we walked over to Wunder Garten, a super casual outdoor bar, and hung out for a bit then went to Coconut Club, a new tropical themed bar near Union Market. It was SUPER cute and I had a delicious frozen strawberry cocktail. Our last stop on the cute bars tour of DC was Primrose, which was a little far out of the way. It’s an absolutely beautiful place and I’d love to go back for dinner sometime (we just had drinks.) Thasin and I went to get blowouts at Drybar in Arlington before dinner and then we all went to Tabard Inn that night. It’s a super cozy restaurant with amazing food (I had the scallops, so good!)
The next morning Tristan and I packed up and left early so we could stop for lunch in Richmond on the way home. It was such a fun trip and I can’t wait to go back!
